Springfield, MO — A winter storm warning has been issued for southeast Kansas and much of Missouri, with heavy snow expected from midnight Monday night until 6 a.m. Wednesday. Snowfall could reach 6 to 10 inches, with isolated areas seeing up to 14 inches.
According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, the storm will bring reduced visibility below 1/4 mile at times due to falling and blowing snow. Winds gusting between 20 and 30 mph, especially along the I-49 corridor, may cause drifting snow, making travel hazardous. Commuters on Tuesday morning and evening should prepare for difficult conditions.
