Jackson, MS – Residents across Mississippi, southeast Arkansas, and northeast Louisiana should brace for strong winds through Wednesday, as a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m. CDT, Oct. 29, 2025, according to the National Weather Service in Jackson.

Forecasters say west winds of 15–25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph, will continue throughout the day. The advisory covers much of the state, including Jackson, Vicksburg, Greenville, Natchez, Meridian, and surrounding areas.

The gusty conditions may topple tree limbs, scatter unsecured outdoor items, and cause isolated power outages. Motorists, particularly those driving high-profile vehicles, are urged to use caution on open roads and bridges.

The winds are expected to gradually weaken by Wednesday night as cooler, drier air settles into the region.
