Jackson, MS – Mississippi drivers should prepare for dense fog Wednesday morning, with visibility dropping below a quarter mile in many areas.
According to NWS Jackson, widespread fog will form east of I-55 between 3 a.m. and 10 a.m. Patchy fog will also develop across the rest of central Mississippi. Motorists should drive cautiously, use low-beam headlights, and allow extra travel time.
Lows overnight will fall into the low 40s. Jackson and Vicksburg will see temperatures around 43-44°F, while Meridian and Hattiesburg will drop to 41-42°F.
The elevated fog threat could create hazardous driving conditions, particularly in Yazoo City, Philadelphia, and Brookhaven. Commuters should check road conditions before heading out.
