Quad Cities, IL – A dangerous cold snap continues across the region Thursday night, with wind chills plunging as low as -25°F. However, relief is on the way as temperatures trend upward into the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, a Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. Friday. Residents should limit time outdoors, as frostbite can occur in as little as 30 minutes. Wind chills will be at their worst overnight, but by Friday, highs will reach the upper teens.

Saturday brings a significant warm-up, with sunny skies and highs near 30°F. By Sunday, temperatures will climb even further, approaching 40°F. Looking ahead to early next week, a mild trend continues, with highs nearing 50°F by Tuesday.

Drivers should remain cautious of potential icy patches on roads Friday morning. Those traveling for the weekend can expect dry and improving conditions.
