Jackson, Miss. – Tornado watches remain active across parts of Mississippi and southeastern Arkansas through 7 p.m. Tuesday, with severe storms threatening to bring damaging winds, hail, and possible tornadoes into the evening hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, Tornado Watch 303 includes 10 counties in Mississippi and two in southeast Arkansas. Communities in the watch area include Greenwood, Greenville, Cleveland, Grenada, and Belzoni, as well as Crossett and Lake Village in Arkansas. Storms are expected to intensify into the early evening.

In central Mississippi, residents in Holmes, Leflore, and Humphreys counties should stay alert.
