Memphis, Tenn. – A broad tornado watch remains in effect for much of the Mid-South through 8 p.m. Tuesday, as dangerous storms continue to sweep across parts of Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Missouri.
According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, Tornado Watch 303 includes major population centers like Memphis, Jackson, Tupelo, and Southaven. The watch covers 21 counties in West Tennessee, 22 in North Mississippi, two in southeast Missouri, and one in east Arkansas.
Communities along I-40 and I-55—including Covington, Oxford, and Corinth—should stay alert for rotating storms capable of producing tornadoes, damaging winds, and hail. Outdoor events may need to pause, and power outages are possible if storms strengthen further into the evening.
