Jackson, MS – A dense fog advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday, causing hazardous driving conditions across central and southern Mississippi. Visibility has dropped to a quarter-mile or less in some areas, making travel on major roadways like I-55, I-20, and I-220 especially dangerous.

According to the National Weather Service, patchy dense fog will persist throughout the early morning before clearing by mid-morning. Drivers are urged to slow down, use headlights, and maintain extra distance between vehicles. As temperatures rise, skies will clear, with highs reaching 81°F by Thursday afternoon.

Looking ahead, Friday will bring mostly sunny skies with a high near 79°F. Light southwest winds will keep conditions calm through the weekend, though gusts could reach 25 mph on Saturday. A slight chance of showers returns Saturday night, but overall, the weekend remains warm with highs in the 70s.

Mississippi residents should remain cautious this morning and expect improving conditions later in the day. Stay updated with local forecasts and drive safely.
