Mobile, AL – A dense fog advisory is in effect for portions of southwest Alabama and southeast Mississippi until 9 a.m. CST Tuesday, with visibility dropping to a quarter-mile or less in some areas.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Mobile, affected locations include Mobile, Baldwin, Choctaw, and Clarke counties in Alabama, as well as Wayne, Perry, Greene, Stone, and George counties in Mississippi. Cities such as Gulf Shores, Mobile, Foley, Bay Minette, and Wiggins are expected to experience hazardous travel conditions due to the thick fog.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution, slow down, and use headlights while driving through affected areas. The NWS warns that reduced visibility could lead to dangerous road conditions, particularly during morning rush hour.
The fog is expected to dissipate by mid-morning as temperatures rise and wind conditions improve. Until then, drivers should allow extra travel time and maintain a safe following distance from other vehicles.
Residents are encouraged to stay updated on changing weather conditions through local forecasts and traffic reports. For the latest updates, visit the National Weather Service website or tune into local news broadcasts.
