Missing Wisconsin Man Found Dead in Rosemont Creek near I-90/I-294 Ramp: Illinois State Police Investigating

Rosemont, IL – The search for a missing Wisconsin man ended tragically when authorities found him deceased in Rosemont. Illinois State Police are leading the investigation.

On November 14, New Berlin Police reported 45-year-old Benjamin Oberto missing. The next day, Rosemont police discovered a partially submerged Subaru Impreza with Wisconsin plates near the Interstate 90 eastbound ramp to Interstate 294 northbound.

Rosemont Fire Department divers recovered a body inside the vehicle. Authorities later identified the victim as Oberto.

Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 1 has assumed responsibility for the case. Investigators have yet to determine how the vehicle ended up in the creek.

The investigation remains active. Officials urge anyone with information to contact Illinois State Police.
