Canandaigua, NY – A Florida man has been reported missing in New York, prompting an urgent search by authorities.
Timothy J. Hilbert, 52, was last seen Friday at 10 a.m. near 2890 Conifer Drive in Canandaigua. Originally from Orlando, FL, Hilbert was reportedly heading on foot toward Avon or Livonia, NY. He was wearing dark pants, brown boots, a green sweatshirt featuring a leprechaun, and a black winter coat with a fur-lined hood.
According to New York State Police, Hilbert also had on a gray knit hat at the time of his disappearance. Officials urge anyone with information to contact them immediately at (585) 398-4100.
Hilbert’s family and law enforcement are concerned for his safety. His unusual travel plans and the cold weather have increased urgency in the search.
Community members in the area are asked to check local properties, wooded areas, and any unoccupied structures for signs of Hilbert.
Police stress that tips should not be shared on social media but reported directly.
