Indianapolis, IN – A quick-moving clipper system is expected to bring light snow to parts of north-central Indiana late Saturday night into Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.
Snow will begin developing overnight and continue into early Sunday, with the greatest accumulations expected north of I-70. Forecast models suggest up to an inch of snow in some areas, with lighter amounts or a rain/snow mix possible farther south toward Bloomington and Columbus.
Forecasters warn of isolated slick spots, especially on bridges and overpasses, where surfaces can freeze more quickly. Brief periods of heavier snow could momentarily reduce visibility and cause minor travel difficulties, particularly for early Sunday drivers.
The impact level is expected to remain low, but motorists are urged to use caution during the morning hours and allow extra time for travel. Roads may improve by midday as temperatures rise slightly and precipitation tapers off.
This system is typical of early December clippers—fast-moving, light on snowfall totals, but capable of causing patchy icy conditions where untreated roads meet falling snow.
