Minnesota – A quick burst of snow could suddenly blur the skyline and cut visibility across Duluth today, even as spring tries to take hold.

According to the National Weather Service, isolated snow squalls remain possible across parts of northeast Minnesota, with brief but sharp drops in visibility expected. While chances remain low, even a fast-moving burst can reduce visibility to under a mile within minutes.

Drivers along I-35 and Highway 61 should stay alert through the afternoon. Roads may look dry, but a passing squall can create slick patches quickly. Keep headlights on and avoid sudden braking.

For now, temperatures hover in the low 40s with a brisk west wind gusting near 25 mph. The air feels crisp, with clouds gradually breaking at times.

Friday brings a noticeable improvement. Sunshine returns with highs near 49°F, offering a brief stretch of calmer spring weather.

That break does not last long. By Saturday afternoon, rain chances begin to increase, with showers developing and temperatures staying in the upper 40s. Conditions turn more unsettled Saturday night into Sunday.

Sunday brings a bigger shift. Rain becomes more widespread, with highs jumping into the low 60s. Breezy conditions develop, making it feel raw despite the warmer air. Plan for wet roads and reduced visibility through the day.

Looking ahead, early next week stays active. Rain lingers into Monday, and colder air may mix in with rain or snow by Tuesday, especially during early morning hours.

Meteorologists are also watching snowmelt and rainfall combine, which could increase minor river flooding risks into early next week.

If you’re traveling today, stay weather-aware and be ready for fast-changing conditions.
