Roads across Interstate 94, I-35W, and Highway 62 could turn slick during periods of steady rain Friday morning and afternoon. Drivers should prepare for slower commutes across Minneapolis, Bloomington, and St. Paul.
Temperatures climb toward 57°F Friday, helping fuel thunderstorms across southern Minnesota. Some storms may produce hail, especially south of the Twin Cities.

Meteorologists say rain will gradually change to snow and a wintry mix across central Minnesota as colder air moves in behind the system.
Light snowfall accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are possible by Saturday morning, especially northwest of Minneapolis toward St. Cloud and central Minnesota.
A brief period of freezing rain could also develop as temperatures fall toward the lower 30s, potentially creating slick bridges and overpasses early Saturday.
Conditions improve through Saturday afternoon as skies clear and temperatures reach the mid-40s.
Sunshine returns Sunday with highs near 61°F, bringing a strong burst of early spring warmth across Minnesota.
