Twin Cities, MN – The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities is tracking a system that will bring widespread rain to much of Minnesota early this week.

Rain showers will first develop in western Minnesota Monday afternoon, gradually spreading eastward through the evening and into Tuesday. The heaviest and most persistent rainfall is expected on Tuesday, before tapering off early Wednesday morning.

Most areas can expect around a half inch of rainfall, though southern and western Minnesota may see slightly higher totals, while western Wisconsin receives a bit less.

Temperatures will remain seasonal for late October, with highs mainly in the 50s and overnight lows in the 40s. After the rain exits Wednesday, skies will begin to clear, bringing drier and cooler conditions to end the week.

Motorists should be prepared for wet roads and reduced visibility during the Tuesday morning and evening commutes.
