St. Paul, Minnesota – A soggy stretch comes to an end for Minnesota as scattered thunderstorms target areas near I-90 on Wednesday, bringing a final round of summer rain before a much drier pattern takes over. Sunshine and mild temperatures will dominate the rest of the week, offering welcome relief to Twin Cities residents.
According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, Wednesday’s scattered thunderstorms may cause brief downpours and gusty winds, mainly affecting communities along and south of I-90. Highs will hover between 75 and 80°F, with storms expected to clear out by evening. Motorists traveling near Rochester and Albert Lea should watch for slick roads and reduced visibility during the evening commute.
By Thursday, the metro area and greater Minnesota will enjoy mostly sunny skies and cooler lows, dipping to the low 50s. Outdoor plans look ideal for Minneapolis, St. Paul, and the surrounding counties through the weekend. The drier air should also help reduce humidity and improve air quality.
Residents are advised to check weather apps for the latest storm alerts Wednesday and avoid flooded roads. With calm, mostly sunny days ahead, it’s a perfect stretch for summer activities and outdoor events. Any additional advisories will be issued if storms redevelop later in the week.
Warnings remain in effect for scattered storms Wednesday, but dry and pleasant weather is set to continue through Saturday.
