St. Paul, Minn. – A stretch of spring sunshine across Minnesota will give way to increasing rain chances starting Tuesday, with cooler daytime highs and unsettled skies expected through midweek.
According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, highs on Sunday and Monday will stay pleasant between 68–75°F under mostly sunny skies. But by Tuesday, clouds move in with a growing chance for scattered showers, particularly in the afternoon and evening. Rain could linger into Wednesday across the Twin Cities and southeastern Minnesota, with temperatures dipping into the low 60s.
Cities including Minneapolis, Rochester, and Mankato could see brief periods of rain Tuesday night, with lows hovering around 50°F. Commuters should be aware of possible slick roads during morning and evening rush hours. Though no widespread flooding is anticipated, localized downpours could affect visibility and travel.
Residents are encouraged to keep umbrellas and rain gear handy and to monitor updated forecasts as timing and rainfall amounts may change.
The next round of steady sunshine could return late in the week, but rain chances remain through Wednesday night.
