Duluth, Minnesota – Northern Minnesota is settling into another stretch of changing winter conditions, with light snow chances today into Saturday followed by a brief warmup early next week. While no major travel disruptions are expected, occasional snow showers and fluctuating temperatures could create slick spots at times.

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, light to moderate snow is possible at times today through Saturday, with the highest chances near Lake Superior’s South Shore. Snow amounts appear limited, but brief bursts could reduce visibility, especially during the overnight and early morning hours. Temperatures will cool slightly into the weekend, keeping daytime highs mostly in the 20s to near 30 with colder nights inland.

Duluth, Two Harbors, Hibbing, Ely, and areas along the Iron Range may see intermittent snow showers rather than steady accumulation. Roads could become slick during periods of snow, particularly on untreated surfaces and elevated roadways. Winds remain relatively light, limiting blowing snow concerns.

Looking ahead, temperatures trend upward again Monday and Tuesday as milder air pushes back into the region. Another system could approach Tuesday, bringing a renewed chance for snow or a mixed precipitation setup depending on the track and timing.

Drivers should remain alert for changing road conditions through the weekend. Additional updates are expected as the next system early next week becomes clearer.
