Duluth, MN – A stretch of quiet, mild November weather continues today, with a round of light precipitation expected to move into the Northland from Wednesday afternoon into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Duluth.
Today will be sunny to mostly sunny across northeastern Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin, with highs reaching the upper 30s to mid-40s and light easterly winds. Clouds increase tonight ahead of an approaching system that will bring light rain to the region Wednesday.
Forecasters say rain is most likely from Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night. Areas such as Duluth, Superior, Cloquet, Two Harbors, and Ashland will see primarily rain with no accumulation. However, in the Arrowhead and Borderlands—including International Falls, Ely, Grand Marais, and Bigfork—a brief mix of rain and very light snow may develop late Wednesday night into early Thursday.
Only minor accumulations are expected, with NWS noting that any snow will be light, patchy, and generally under a dusting. Roads should remain mostly wet, though a few slick spots cannot be ruled out in higher terrain early Thursday morning.
Thursday continues with mostly rain area-wide, though some lingering light snow could mix in across far northern Minnesota. Winds may gust up to 20 mph at times, especially near Lake Superior.
Temperatures remain mild for mid-November, with highs both Wednesday and Thursday in the upper 30s to mid-40s—several degrees above average.
Dry weather returns Thursday night and continues through the end of the week and into the weekend, providing a quieter pattern for travel and outdoor activities.
