Duluth, MN – A light wintry mix is expected to impact northern Minnesota starting tonight, with the possibility of snow, sleet, and ice. The weather system is set to move in around sunrise, primarily affecting western areas, including the Brainerd Lakes, Walker, and Lake Winnie regions.

According to the US National Weather Service in Duluth, the wintry mix will last into at least Wednesday morning, with the potential for a light glaze of ice, particularly in the northern areas. Temperatures will range from 13°F to 31°F tonight, creating hazardous conditions for travel.

By Wednesday, precipitation is expected to continue with a 30-60% chance of light snow, rain, and mixed wintry conditions across Arrowhead and North Shore areas. The highs will reach between 34°F and 56°F, with lows between 24°F and 33°F.

Conditions are expected to improve by Thursday as drier weather moves in, bringing milder temperatures between 40°F and 50°F. However, some rain or snow showers could persist in isolated areas. Full recovery to dry conditions is anticipated by Friday, with temperatures climbing to a high of 59°F in most areas.
