Minneapolis, MN – After a sunny and mild weekend, the National Weather Service in Twin Cities says rainy weather is set to return early this week, bringing several rounds of showers and cooler air across Minnesota.
According to the NWS, a large-scale system will arrive Monday and persist through early Wednesday, delivering scattered to widespread rain showers statewide. The heaviest rain totals are expected in western Minnesota, where rainfall may linger into Wednesday morning.
Sunday will feature sunshine, breezy southerly winds, and highs in the mid-60s, before clouds increase overnight. Temperatures will gradually cool through the week, with highs dropping from the 60s Monday to the 40s and low 50s by midweek.
Forecasters note that seasonal fall conditions will settle in behind the front, with drier weather expected Thursday and Friday. Residents should plan for wet commutes Monday and Tuesday, along with gusty winds and cooler mornings later in the week.
