Minneapolis, Minnesota – Sunshine and mild temperatures will make Thursday one of the best days of the summer across the Twin Cities, with highs reaching 70 to 75 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, conditions will shift dramatically Friday as strong thunderstorms move in by late afternoon and evening. These storms could bring large hail, gusty winds, and heavy downpours—especially for Minneapolis, St. Paul, and surrounding communities. Lows will drop to the 50s Friday night. Drivers are urged to use caution if traveling after 4 p.m., especially along I-94 and I-35, as localized flooding and hail could create hazardous conditions.

Saturday will turn warmer and more humid, with highs between 75 and 80 degrees and partly sunny skies. Western suburbs and the downtown area may see muggy conditions through the afternoon, making outdoor activities feel warmer than the thermometer suggests. Sunday’s weather remains partly sunny and mild, with overnight lows in the mid-50s to mid-60s.

Residents should keep devices charged and have a plan for shelter if severe weather warnings are issued Friday evening. More alerts may follow if storms strengthen.
