Duluth, Minn. – Scattered thunderstorms could bring brief downpours to parts of northwest Wisconsin Tuesday afternoon, kicking off a stretch of unsettled weather for northern Minnesota through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, Tuesday’s storm activity will remain scattered, with clearer skies expected Wednesday as high pressure settles in. Temperatures will climb into the low 80s across the region midweek before another round of storms moves in Thursday evening, potentially intensifying Friday with widespread rainfall and embedded thunderstorms.

Cities including Duluth, Superior, Ashland, and Cloquet should prepare for periods of heavy rain Friday into Saturday. Friday’s high in Duluth is expected to reach 81°F with lows in the upper 50s. While timing remains uncertain, the strongest storms could bring localized flooding, especially in low-lying and poorly drained areas.

Residents are advised to avoid driving through flooded roadways, secure outdoor items, and monitor for weather alerts, particularly heading into the weekend.

Storm chances may linger into Saturday, with cooler temperatures expected Sunday. More updates are likely as timing and severity become clearer.
