According to the National Weather Service in Chanhassen, Sunday will bring sunshine to Minneapolis with highs near 72°F and light winds from the northeast. Memorial Day continues the summer trend, topping out again near 72°F under mostly sunny skies. Ideal conditions are expected for outdoor events, cookouts, and travel across the Twin Cities region.

But changes are brewing. A 20% chance of showers returns Monday night, increasing to 40% by Tuesday afternoon. Areas along I-94, including Minneapolis and St. Paul, could see scattered rain and overcast skies from Tuesday into Wednesday. Winds will shift northwest, reaching up to 10 mph by midweek. Commuters should anticipate slick roads during peak hours and are urged to check conditions before traveling.

Showers are likely to continue into Wednesday night and Thursday morning, with a slight dip in temperatures to the upper 60s. Though no severe weather is currently expected, localized rainfall and shifting winds may impact visibility and road safety.
