Minneapolis, Minnesota – Minnesotans can expect a soggy stretch this week as rain and thunderstorms roll through the state from Tuesday through Thursday, with up to 3 inches of rainfall possible in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, a cold front moving through Monday will stall south of Minnesota and Wisconsin, creating an active pattern for showers and storms. Western Minnesota may see early rain Monday, with chances expanding statewide Tuesday through Thursday. The Twin Cities, Rochester, and Mankato could all see daily rainfall totals stack up, raising concerns for minor street flooding in low-lying areas.

Daytime highs will dip into the 70s across much of the state, with southern counties staying cooler in the 50s to low 60s, particularly during storm activity. Winds may also pick up during heavier thunderstorms, though no severe storm warnings are currently in effect.

Residents are advised to monitor local alerts, avoid flooded roads, and keep devices charged in case of isolated outages. Rain gear and patience will be key for commuters and outdoor workers through midweek.

Rain chances begin tapering by late Thursday, though additional advisories are possible as new systems develop.
