Twin Cities, MN – Cooler, calmer weather has returned to Minnesota following the passage of a recent cold front, according to the National Weather Service Twin Cities. Residents across the metro and surrounding areas can expect dry skies and seasonably cool temperatures through the week, with a brief chance for patchy frost by Wednesday morning.

According to the NWS forecast issued Monday, temperatures will hover in the low to mid-60s through midweek before climbing toward the mid-70s by Friday. Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be the coolest days, with overnight lows dipping low enough in northern and western parts of the state to trigger early-morning frost, especially in rural areas.

Thursday brings a return of milder air and breezy conditions, followed by a pleasant and slightly warmer finish to the week. No significant rain or storms are in the forecast, making for an extended stretch of dry fall weather across most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

Drivers and early-morning commuters should be alert for possible frost accumulation on windshields and bridges Wednesday morning. Overall, forecasters say this week’s pattern marks a return to more typical early October conditions after last week’s unseasonably warm spell.
