Duluth, MN – Light snow is moving into northeastern Minnesota Friday morning, creating slippery conditions and limited visibility through Saturday. Local residents should prepare for accumulations of 1 to 3 inches across much of the region, with isolated totals of up to 4 inches along the North Shore.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Duluth, snowfall will begin increasing Friday afternoon and continue overnight into Saturday. Flurries may linger through Saturday evening, with gusty winds reaching up to 30 mph. Temperatures will stay in the teens Friday but will rise to a high near 24 degrees Saturday before dropping to single digits at night.

Drivers should exercise caution on local roads, including I-35 and Highway 61, where slick conditions are likely. Officials recommend allowing extra travel time and keeping emergency supplies in vehicles.

Looking ahead, Sunday is expected to bring mostly sunny skies with a high of 26 degrees, though breezy conditions will persist. By Monday, another slight chance of snow returns, accompanied by a high near 34 degrees. Tuesday will remain chilly, with highs in the mid-20s and more snow possible.

Residents along the North Shore should be prepared for heavier snow in isolated areas and monitor updates from the NWS. Ensure driveways and walkways are cleared to prevent ice buildup and stay informed on changing road conditions.
