Duluth, MN – Northern Minnesota is seeing a light rain and snow mix this Veterans Day morning, but forecasters say the region will dry out and warm up through the rest of the week.

According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, a weak system is bringing light precipitation to the Arrowhead and South Shore, with little to no snow accumulation expected. There’s also a small chance for brief freezing drizzle in parts of Lake and Cook counties through early evening.

By Wednesday, conditions will turn drier but windy, with strong northwest gusts ushering in cooler air before a gradual warm-up late week. Highs will range from the mid-30s Tuesday to near 50°F by Friday, with lows mostly in the 20s to low 30s.

“Dry and warmer weather will dominate through the work week,” the NWS said, noting that rain chances return Friday night into the weekend, mainly across northern Minnesota. Saturday could bring a 30–50% chance of light rain and isolated snowflakes for far northern areas, while Sunday trends milder and mostly dry.

Overall, the region will experience a quiet midweek pattern, with sunny breaks expected Thursday and a comfortable, above-average weekend ahead.
