MINNESOTA – A classic fall weekend is taking shape across the Twin Cities as showers clear out and crisp, sunny weather returns. The National Weather Service in Minneapolis–St. Paul expects a shift to cooler, breezy conditions starting Saturday and continuing into early next week.

Scattered rain chances linger through Friday morning, mainly for the southern and eastern metro areas. Drivers along I-94 and I-35 should use caution early, as wet pavement and gusty winds could affect visibility. Behind the rain, skies clear quickly by Saturday afternoon, setting up a much cooler air mass that will drop highs into the mid-60s.

Sunday will deliver the picture-perfect fall weather Minnesotans have been waiting for — sunny skies, light winds, and highs near 59°F. It’s a great day for leaf viewing, park hikes, or final yard cleanups before the next cold front arrives Monday night.

That front will bring a few scattered showers Monday into Tuesday, but no severe weather is expected. Highs will hover in the low 60s through midweek, with a brisk northwest breeze adding to the chill.

As the third week of October wraps up, the Twin Cities will fully embrace fall. Expect golden afternoons, cool mornings, and a few blustery moments — ideal conditions for hot coffee, flannel weather, and early Halloween decorating.
