Minneapolis, Minnesota – Dense fog is reducing visibility across parts of southern and western Minnesota this morning, creating immediate hazards for drivers before conditions improve within a few hours after sunrise.
According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, patchy dense fog will linger through the early morning commute before gradually clearing by mid-morning. Visibility may drop below a half mile in some areas, especially along rural highways and low-lying regions.
Cities including Minneapolis, St. Paul, Mankato, and Rochester will see improving conditions by late morning, with skies turning partly sunny. Highs today will range from the mid-40s to near 60 degrees, with slightly cooler readings toward western Wisconsin.
The fog pattern repeats early Friday, with another round of reduced visibility expected before clearing again into the afternoon. Temperatures will continue to climb, reaching into the 50s and low 60s Friday.
By Saturday, a significant warm-up takes hold, with highs reaching between 65 and 75 degrees under mostly sunny skies across southern Minnesota. Drivers should remain cautious during early morning hours through Friday, as fog continues to develop before the warmer, quieter weekend settles in.
