Minneapolis, MN – Warm September weather continues across Minnesota this week, with afternoon highs holding steady in the low to mid-80s before storm chances arrive Friday.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, conditions will stay mostly sunny and dry through Thursday. Tuesday brings some clouds and a slight chance of sprinkles, while Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be mostly sunny, with highs climbing to near 90 degrees in some areas.

Overnight lows will range from the upper 50s to mid-60s, keeping evenings mild for outdoor plans.

The weather pattern is expected to shift Friday afternoon, when forecasters predict a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Rain and storm activity may impact parts of Minneapolis, St. Paul, and surrounding metro areas heading into the weekend.

Drivers and commuters should prepare for possible slower travel during Friday evening’s rush hour if storms develop. Outdoor events late Friday could also be affected by the unsettled weather.

Temperatures will remain above average through the week, with no significant cool down expected until after the weekend.
