St. Paul, MN – Minnesota residents can expect summer-like heat to carry into the first week of October, with highs in the 80s stretching through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service Twin Cities.
Forecasters said Tuesday will be partly cloudy with highs near 80–85 degrees. By Wednesday, October will begin with temperatures more typical of August, ranging from 82–86 degrees during the day and lows around 60–65 overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, the warmth builds further Thursday and Friday, with highs between 85–92 degrees expected across the Twin Cities metro and surrounding counties. Friday is projected to be the warmest day of the week.
The forecast remains dry through Saturday evening, when rain chances begin to increase overnight into Sunday. Highs Saturday are expected to reach 85–90 degrees before showers move in.
The unusual late-season heat comes as Minnesota transitions into October, a month that typically sees highs in the 60s. Meteorologists note that this stretch of warmth may be one of the longest early-autumn hot spells in recent years.
Residents are advised to take precautions while outdoors and to prepare for changing conditions as rain returns late in the weekend.
