According to the National Weather Service in Duluth, a winter storm warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday, with gusts up to 30 mph and lingering snow chances. As the storm exits, temperatures will hover in the low 40s, but breezy conditions will persist through Saturday. Highway 61 travelers may encounter reduced visibility and slick roads from patchy snowfall Friday night into Saturday morning.
Friday will bring highs near 41°F under mostly cloudy skies. Winds will shift from northwest to northeast, reaching gusts of 25 mph. A brief chance of snow returns Friday night, with light accumulation possible near the North Shore and Arrowhead regions.
Saturday continues the chilly spring trend, with highs around 40°F and breezy northwest winds. Another round of snow may arrive Saturday night, mainly in higher elevations. Sunday offers slight relief with partial sunshine and highs in the low 40s.
By early next week, temperatures climb gradually, reaching the 50s by Wednesday. Winds will calm slightly, offering better conditions for outdoor spring activities.
Residents should stay alert for sudden changes in weather, particularly when driving near Lake Superior or along major roads like Highway 61. Dress in layers, secure outdoor items, and check local alerts daily.
