Showers are expected to move into the area late Sunday with a 30% chance of rain and embedded thunderstorms possible overnight into Monday.

By Monday, spring storms will intensify. Thunderstorms could hit the Twin Cities between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., with the highest chance of activity after 1 p.m. Daytime highs are expected to soar to 80°F. NWS forecasters warn of rainfall totals between a quarter and half an inch, which may impact the Monday evening commute along major routes like I-94, I-35W, and Highway 62.
