Minneapolis, MN — President Donald Trump issued a direct threat to the American public Saturday, declaring he will deploy federal ICE agents to take control of the nation’s airports following the stalled passage of a bill that critics allege would end the democratic process.

The “SAVE America” Act, which has faced intense scrutiny this week, has been labeled by legal experts and civil rights groups as a move to grant the presidency unprecedented control over the machinery of voting. Critics allege the bill’s strict documentation requirements would effectively disenfranchise up to 69 million Americans—primarily married women whose birth certificates do not match their current legal names—while nationalizing voter rolls under federal oversight.

According to social media posts from the president on Saturday, March 21, 2026, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have been ordered to “GET READY” to replace TSA officers at security checkpoints starting Monday. The president specifically targeted Minnesota in his statement, alleging that the “once Great State” has been “totally destroyed” by Governor Tim Walz and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. He further signaled an aggressive crackdown with a “heavy emphasis” on the arrest of Somali-Americans, a community already reeling from federal enforcement actions.

The threat to deploy ICE into civil aviation hubs comes to the same state where two U.S. citizens were recently killed by federal immigration agents. According to reports, Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old intensive care nurse, and Renée Good, a 37-year-old mother of three, were fatally shot by agents in Minneapolis in January during “Operation Metro Surge.” The deaths of Pretti and Good, which occurred less than two miles apart, have sparked nationwide outrage and led to congressional demands for a full investigation into the use of lethal force by federal agents.

In a separate announcement Saturday, the president also celebrated the death of former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who allegedly passed away Friday at the age of 81. The president stated he was “glad” Mueller was dead, repeatedly alleging that the former Special Counsel—who famously investigated the president’s 2016 campaign—had spent his life “hurting innocent people.”
