Grand Forks, ND – Residents of northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota should brace for a week of changing weather conditions, including rain and gusty winds. The most notable weather impacts are expected to begin late Tuesday night, potentially affecting evening commutes and overnight travel.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, increasing clouds on Tuesday will bring breezy conditions, with south winds reaching 20 to 24 mph and gusts up to 36 mph. A 50% chance of rain will follow, mainly after midnight. While rainfall totals are expected to be less than 0.1 inches, roadways, including major routes like Interstate 29, may become slick and require caution.

Wednesday will see a 30% chance of rain early, transitioning to partly sunny skies with highs near 50°F. Winds will shift to the northwest by afternoon, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Drivers should remain alert for potentially reduced visibility and wet roads during morning commutes.

Looking ahead, Thursday and Friday bring more stable conditions, with partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 40s. Winds will calm to 7 to 11 mph by Thursday, offering some relief after the midweek gusts. By Friday, mostly sunny weather is expected, with a return to cool evening lows around 32°F.

Residents are advised to prepare for cooler, wetter weather, particularly during late Tuesday and early Wednesday. Plan travel and activities accordingly to avoid disruptions.
