Minneapolis, Minnesota – Dry skies and comfortable highs in the 70s will make for an ideal Memorial Day across Minnesota, with many areas enjoying sunshine and light breezes before a shift to wetter conditions midweek.
According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, temperatures will hover around 73°F Monday and remain mild through Wednesday. A slight chance of rain arrives Tuesday afternoon, increasing into Wednesday, though widespread rainfall is not expected.
Cities like St. Paul, Duluth, and Rochester should prepare for partly cloudy skies and spotty showers midweek. Temperatures may dip into the upper 60s Tuesday before rebounding by Thursday. By Friday, much of southern and central Minnesota—including Mankato and the Twin Cities—could see highs reach 83°F, signaling the season’s first true burst of summer warmth.
Drivers are advised to monitor changing conditions Tuesday afternoon and keep rain gear handy for the Wednesday commute. While storms aren’t in the forecast, slick roads and brief downpours are possible.
The warming trend looks to continue into the final weekend of May. Stay tuned for updates as weather patterns shift toward more summer-like conditions across the Upper Midwest.
