Amboy, MN – A 68-year-old Minnesota man was killed Sunday afternoon after reportedly becoming trapped under a large agricultural tire at a farm in rural Blue Earth County.
According to the Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Amboy Fire Department personnel responded to a call around 4:09 p.m. on Sunday regarding an unresponsive man on 100th Street in Amboy. Upon arrival, responders located the man pinned beneath a heavy sprayer tire between a planter and the machine shed.
The victim was identified as Douglas Harold Sanders. Authorities believe he was attempting to move the several-hundred-pound sprayer tire when the incident occurred.
Sanders was pronounced dead at the scene. The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office stated the case remains under investigation with assistance from the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
No further details were immediately released.
