A dense fog advisory remains in effect across parts of Minnesota, affecting major routes, including I-35 near Moose Lake, and extending into western Wisconsin. Visibility has dropped to a quarter-mile or less in many areas, creating challenging driving conditions this morning. Motorists are advised to use low-beam headlights, reduce speeds, and allow extra stopping distance to improve safety on foggy roadways.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Duluth, the fog advisory is expected to lift around 10 a.m. today, but drivers should continue to exercise caution until then. Morning temperatures hover around the low 40s, with mild, partly sunny weather anticipated later in the day. Conditions should improve by the afternoon, bringing clearer skies and highs near 49 degrees in Duluth and similar across the state.

Looking ahead, the weekend forecast shows favorable weather conditions for those planning outdoor activities. Saturday is expected to be sunny and breezy with highs reaching between 50 to 55 degrees, while lows will dip to the mid-30s overnight. Sunday remains mostly sunny with a slightly cooler high near 47 degrees. Breezy conditions may continue, with winds up to 15 mph, adding a chill to the air.

As Monday approaches, a shift in weather will bring rain into the region by afternoon and evening, leading into a potentially wet Tuesday. Rain is likely on Tuesday with highs ranging from 42 to 52 degrees, while windy conditions may develop, potentially impacting travel and outdoor plans.

Residents and visitors should stay updated through local weather services and exercise extra caution if traveling in foggy areas today. The NWS advises taking advantage of the clear weather this weekend before rain returns early next week.
