Duluth, MN – A cold front is moving through northern Minnesota today, bringing cooler temperatures to the Duluth area as well as a shift in winds to the northwest. Friday’s weather is expected to stay mostly sunny, with highs ranging from 59 to 69 degrees. However, the temperature drop will become more noticeable as we move into Saturday, with increased chances of showers over the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Duluth, showers are likely across the region starting Saturday, with a 20-40% chance of rain and temperatures ranging between 32 to 60 degrees. The cold front will further strengthen on Sunday, increasing the likelihood of showers to 20-90% with highs only reaching between 49 to 53 degrees. Residents along Highway 61 and in the Brainerd Lakes area should prepare for rain and cooler conditions throughout the weekend.

Sunday will see the highest probability of showers, with rain most likely in the Arrowhead region and the northwest. The NWS advises travelers to stay updated on weather conditions and road safety, especially as temperatures drop into the low 40s at night, which could result in slick road conditions.

Looking ahead, cooler weather will dominate early next week, with highs expected to stay in the low 50s through Tuesday. Residents are encouraged to check the latest forecasts and take necessary precautions for the drop in temperatures.
