Minnesota and Wisconsin Prepare for Annual Tornado Drill Today, April 10th

St. Paul, MN – Minnesota and Wisconsin residents will participate in the annual tornado drill today as part of Severe Weather Awareness Week. The first drill will take place at 1:45 p.m. local time, followed by a second drill at 6:45 p.m.

The drill is an opportunity for individuals and families to practice their emergency preparedness plans. Local outdoor warning sirens will sound, and NOAA Weather Radio will transmit the test code. Additional notification methods may also be used across the region.

According to the National Weather Service, this drill is vital for familiarizing residents with tornado safety measures and ensuring they are ready if severe weather strikes. The annual event highlights the importance of tornado preparedness as part of a larger community effort to reduce injuries and fatalities during severe weather events.
