MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Spring-like weather is expected across the Twin Cities Sunday and Monday before a more active weather pattern returns Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in the Twin Cities, partly cloudy skies and mild temperatures will dominate Sunday, with highs expected to reach 60 to 65 degrees across much of the Minneapolis–St. Paul metro area.

Southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph will accompany the warmer conditions, while overnight temperatures are expected to fall into the mid-30s to near 40 degrees.

Monday will remain mild but slightly cooler, with partly cloudy skies and highs in the mid-40s to around 60 degrees across the region.

Forecasters say the weather pattern will begin to change Tuesday as a developing system brings increasing cloud cover and chances for rain and snow across Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

High temperatures Tuesday are expected to range from around 40 to near 50 degrees, with precipitation chances increasing through the day and into the evening.

Meteorologists say several chances for precipitation may continue through the end of the week as the weather pattern becomes more active across the Upper Midwest.

The mild conditions early in the week may encourage outdoor activity across the Twin Cities before rain and snow chances return by Tuesday.
