Minneapolis, Minnesota — Near-normal temperatures and generally dry conditions are expected on Friday in the Twin Cities, with afternoon highs hovering around 20 degrees as a milder and drier pattern begins to take shape.

According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities office, Friday will remain quiet with limited chances for light snow and no significant weather impacts anticipated. High temperatures are forecast near 20 degrees, with overnight lows dropping into the mid-teens.

A gradual warming trend is expected through the weekend and into early next week. Saturday highs are projected to climb toward 30 degrees, followed by cooler readings near the mid-20s on Sunday. By Monday, temperatures are expected to reach the mid-30s, with highs around 32 degrees continuing into Tuesday.

Overnight lows will also trend milder. Friday night lows are expected near 16 degrees, with Saturday night temperatures dipping closer to 10 degrees. By early next week, nighttime lows are forecast to rise into the upper teens and lower 20s.

Forecasters said precipitation chances remain low throughout the period, with only isolated chances for light snow at times. No widespread accumulation is expected, contributing to relatively calm travel conditions across the region.

Normal high temperatures for late December in the Twin Cities are typically in the upper 20s, making next week’s forecast slightly above average. The National Weather Service noted that the combination of milder temperatures and limited snowfall should help reduce weather-related disruptions.

Commuters and students traveling Friday morning may notice colder conditions early in the day, while those heading out later in the weekend should experience more seasonable and manageable weather.
