Wisconsin’s skies are already turning unsettled, and scattered storms are beginning to build, setting the stage for slick roads and rising water concerns through the afternoon and evening. The air feels mild, but instability is increasing quickly.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee, scattered thunderstorms are expected today, with small hail possible northwest of Madison and rain chances climbing to 60%. Multiple rounds of rain are expected through midweek, raising the risk of localized flooding and river rises.

Milwaukee will see highs near 72°F with breezy southwest winds gusting up to 35 mph. Showers and storms develop through the afternoon, becoming more widespread into the evening. Drivers along I-94 and I-43 should prepare for reduced visibility and ponding on roads.

Rain intensifies tonight, with an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms and additional rainfall possible. Wet pavement and standing water could slow late-day travel and early commutes.

Monday brings a brief break, with partly sunny skies and highs near 76°F, though a 20% storm chance lingers. By Tuesday, storm chances increase again to 50%, especially after 1 p.m., bringing another round of downpours.

The wet pattern continues into Wednesday, with rain chances climbing as high as 70%. Repeated rainfall may overwhelm drainage systems in low-lying areas, especially in urban parts of Milwaukee County.

Looking ahead, more showers are expected into late week, keeping conditions unsettled. Stay alert for changing weather and possible advisories. Driving through storms today or midweek? Let us know what conditions you’re seeing near you.
