Milwaukee drivers could wake to dense fog and scattered storms this Monday, slowing travel on I-94 and I-43. Visibility may drop quickly, creating hazardous conditions for the morning commute. Motorists should allow extra time and keep headlights on when driving through low-lying areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, patchy fog could reduce visibility early, followed by scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms through the afternoon. Gusty winds and small hail remain possible with the strongest storms. The greatest risk extends across southeastern Wisconsin, including Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Kenosha counties.

Storm activity will linger Tuesday, with showers and isolated thunderstorms possible through the evening. Drivers using I-894 and U.S. 41 should prepare for ponding on roads during heavier rainfall. Outdoor plans may face delays both Tuesday and Wednesday, as additional rounds of showers are expected before conditions improve by Thursday.

Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, charge electronic devices, and monitor alerts for changing conditions. Air travelers through General Mitchell International Airport could face delays if storms develop during peak departure times.

Fall officially begins today, and while temperatures hold in the 70s this week, cooler air arrives by Friday. Highs then fall into the upper 60s, offering the first taste of more seasonable weather.

Warnings remain in effect for patchy fog tonight and renewed thunderstorm chances through midweek. More advisories may be issued as conditions evolve.
