Milwaukee, Wisconsin – After a stretch of bitter cold, Milwaukee is headed for a slow but noticeable warm-up this weekend, with highs reaching the low 20s by Sunday and a chance for lake-effect snow on Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, a weak system may generate light snow showers near the Lake Michigan shoreline Saturday afternoon, mainly impacting Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha counties. Snowfall amounts are expected to be light, but visibility could briefly drop during peak periods.

Temperatures will remain well below normal through Friday, with lows dipping as low as -5°F Thursday morning. Winds will ease by Friday, and sunshine will help boost daytime highs into the teens. Saturday marks the beginning of a milder trend, with highs climbing to near 20°F and Sunday pushing into the low 20s.

While the snow threat remains minimal, residents near the lakefront should monitor conditions Saturday and use caution if traveling.

Dry conditions are expected to return by Sunday night as a quiet pattern settles into early next week.
