Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Rain moves into southeast Wisconsin tonight with a chance of thunder, potentially affecting late-evening travel.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, light rain will develop overnight with the possibility of the first scattered rumbles of thunder of 2026. Precipitation chances range from 18% to 94%, with showers most likely after midnight.

Tuesday highs are forecast between 42 and 55 degrees across the region, with overnight lows ranging from 37 to 47 degrees. Thunder chances remain isolated but could develop as the rain spreads across Milwaukee, Madison, Kenosha, and surrounding communities.

Drivers along Interstate 94 between Milwaukee and Madison, Interstate 41 near Fond du Lac, and U.S. Highway 41 toward Kenosha may encounter wet pavement and reduced visibility overnight into early Wednesday.

Rain is expected to taper Wednesday morning, followed by drier conditions into the afternoon. Additional precipitation chances increase again Thursday, with highs ranging from the mid-40s to mid-50s later this week.

While severe weather is not indicated, lightning and brief heavier downpours could impact the early Wednesday commute.

Students, overnight workers, and early commuters should allow extra travel time and monitor changing conditions.
