Milwaukee, WI – Flood warnings remain in effect for Milwaukee and parts of southeast Wisconsin as heavy rain and swollen rivers continue to threaten travel and safety through early Monday. Some low-lying roads are already closed, and the National Weather Service cautions drivers against crossing flooded roadways, especially after dark.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, the Milwaukee River near Cedarburg and Franklin is experiencing moderate flooding, with water levels expected to stay elevated into Monday morning. A Flood Watch remains in effect for much of the region, with scattered thunderstorms overnight adding to already saturated ground.

Residents in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, and Jefferson counties should prepare for additional rainfall that could quickly lead to flash flooding. Emergency officials advise avoiding unnecessary travel, especially in areas known for poor drainage, and keeping phones charged in case of power outages.

Showers and storms are expected to taper Tuesday afternoon, followed by a drier, sunnier midweek stretch. Officials warn that more advisories could be issued if rainfall totals increase or rivers remain high.
