Milwaukee, Wisconsin — Light snow showers and flurries are ending across southeastern Wisconsin on Friday morning, but isolated slick spots may continue to impact the early commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, lingering flurries diminished early Friday as the main band of snow shifted east. While snowfall amounts were light, blowing and drifting snow combined with untreated surfaces could still create hazardous driving conditions through the morning hours.

Radar imagery showed the most persistent snow activity clearing the Milwaukee metro area shortly after daybreak. However, forecasters cautioned that brief reductions in visibility and slick pavement remain possible, particularly on secondary roads, bridges, and overpasses.

Officials advised drivers to budget extra travel time and reduce speeds, especially during the morning commute. Even light accumulations can cause patchy ice where road temperatures remain below freezing.

A Wisconsin Department of Transportation traffic camera near County Road H in Sturtevant showed damp and slushy pavement early Friday, highlighting the potential for changing road conditions across the region.

As snow ends, skies are expected to gradually clear later Friday, though colder air will remain in place. Daytime highs are expected to stay below seasonal averages, and lingering northwest winds may continue to cause minor drifting in open areas.

No additional snowfall is expected later Friday, and conditions are forecast to steadily improve as road crews continue treating highways and major routes. By Friday afternoon, travel conditions are expected to be noticeably better across much of southeastern Wisconsin.

The National Weather Service emphasized that while this is not a major winter storm, minor winter weather impacts can still cause delays and accidents during peak travel times.
