Milwaukee, WI – A deadly shooting late Friday morning left one teenager dead and another injured as Milwaukee Police continue searching for additional suspects connected to the incident.
According to Milwaukee Police, the shooting happened around 11:51 a.m. on the 4600 block of N. Hopkins Street. Investigators say multiple suspects approached an 18-year-old in what appeared to be an attempted robbery before shots were fired. Both the victim and one suspect were struck by gunfire.
The 18-year-old victim sought help at a nearby school, where staff contacted emergency responders. The teen was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and later died, police said.
A 17-year-old suspect, also injured during the shooting, was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. After receiving medical care, he was arrested in connection with the incident. Police noted that additional suspects remain unaccounted for and the investigation is ongoing.
