Milwaukee, WI – Morning snow is beginning to wind down across southern Wisconsin, but travel remains hazardous with slick and snow-covered roads. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Milwaukee/Sullivan reports that moderate to heavy snow continues in far southeast Wisconsin, mainly near Kenosha and Racine, while lighter snow persists farther northwest.
Snow has already exited much of western and southwestern Wisconsin, with conditions expected to improve gradually through the morning. However, untreated roadways will remain slippery, especially near I-41 and I-94 corridors.
“Moderate to heavy snow mostly just in far southeast Wisconsin with lighter snow farther northwest,” the NWS said. “The rest of the snow will gradually push out over the next few hours. Slippery roads for this morning, expect slowed travel.”
Radar images early Sunday show the last bands of steady snow pushing east toward Lake Michigan. By late morning, skies are expected to clear slightly, though cold temperatures will keep roads icy in spots.
Motorists are urged to reduce speeds, increase following distance, and allow extra travel time until plows and salt crews clear remaining snow.
